Words of Appreciation - Backed by Your Netting, We Can Pursue Our Studies Without Worry
College of Management Class of 2022 - Lin Xiangxuan
I am deeply grateful to "Mr. Ying Yungang Memorial Foundation" for the support and assistance they provided me. Without their timely help, I could not focus on my studies peacefully.
The pandemic disrupted the world’s order and shattered the peace in many families. My 92-year-old grandmother’s diabetes worsened, causing her legs to swell to nearly twice their average size. My mother had to quit her job to care for my grandmother around the clock. Before the pandemic, the family’s financial burden rested solely on my father, who drove a taxi. Supplemented by the little income I earned from part-time jobs on weekends, we could barely make ends meet. But when the pandemic struck, everyone became fearful and went out less often, and the new work-from-home lifestyle drastically reduced my father’s income. On top of that, my third-year university studies became increasingly demanding, as I needed to improve my grades and prepare for next year's graduate school entrance exams. Struggling to juggle everything, I gritted my teeth and pushed through to help support my family.
This scholarship was like a beacon of hope in a dark time, an essential relief that allowed me to temporarily stop worrying about household expenses and my grandmother's medical costs, giving me the chance to attend classes and focus on learning without distractions.
Once again, thank the Mr. Ying Yun-gang Foundation for their timely help. It made me realize that there is warmth in this world everywhere. Even though we don’t know each other, I will never forget this kindness. In the future, I will use my skills to give back to society, help more people, and carry forward the spirit and mission of the foundation!
